Email or phone number to login?

Can FusionAuth be configured to allow users to sign in with email or phone number.
Meaning... both will work when they try to log in. One day a user chooses to use their email, the next day they decide to use their phone number.
Would their phone number need to be established as their username?

Yes. That’s how it currently works.
We have on the roadmap a more flexible identity system but don't have a current timeline for implementation. Here's the tracking issue: https://github.com/FusionAuth/fusionauth-issues/issues/1
