Locked out due to template changes

Hello guys.
I've an issue with a Freemarker template which prevents me from login. (to my application, but even worse to the admin interface).
I adjusted some helpers and content of a theme and am completely unable to login anymore. Accounts login page displays a 500 error.
I'd like to reset my change in the db. Can anyone guide me in the right direction on how to achieve that?
when i list the contents of themes table with
select * from themes;
i get a white screen when issued through psql. Listing contents of user table works, however.
