Resolved this by removing the sender address that I had defined in the template (must have caused some conflict).

Yes, the default "Forgot password" e-mail sends fine both when sending a test e-mail, as well as when triggered via an auth flow.

Can't send e-mails with custom e-mail templates
I created a few e-mail templates with customized content/styling. When I try to send test e-mails or select them as defaults in the configuration options, no e-mails are being sent.
Are there any prerequisites I am missing for sending e-mails with customized templates? Any know issues that commonly occur that I may be running into?

How can a deployment be upgraded from Basic to Business hosintg?
I cannot find a place where to upgrade an existing deployment to a Business hosting plan? Where do I need to look?
